Meet NWMMB
Established in 2008, Northwest Mothers Milk Bank’s (NWMMB) mission is to improve the health and survival of vulnerable infants. We believe that every baby deserves access to human milk. As a member of the Human Milk Banking Association of North America (HMBANA), we have been closely aligned with our neighboring milk banks by helping each other to meet the demand for donor human milk. This includes our friends at Mother’s Milk Bank of Montana.
In the Spring, we began to assist with screening milk donors, safely pasteurizing milk, and dispensing milk to hospitals and outpatients in the state of Montana.
Milk For Montana
In July 2024, we made this transition official and welcomed Mother’s Milk Bank of Montana into our family. NWMMB plans to begin revitalizing nonprofit milk banking in the state of Montana. We could use your help! Our immediate goals are to:
-
Grow awareness about human milk banking and the opportunity for milk donation to help Montana babies to grow and thrive.
-
Develop Milk Drop locations throughout the state. Milk Drops make it easier for generous milk donors to drop off their milk. Interested in hosting a Milk Drop site?
-
Meet the needs of hospitalized babies in Montana with a safe source of human donor milk. Is your local hospital interested in providing donor milk to babies for medical supplementation?
-
Increase access to human donor milk for outpatient infants with medical needs.
